Your AI Email Rollout With a Narrow Scope

Hi,

When rolling out an AI Agent for email, I think it’s better to start with a few specific use cases instead of enabling it for every email.

A few things you need to check first:

  • Review the email automation trigger and its conditions

  • Make sure only the intended emails reach the AI Agent

  • Define what should happen when an email doesn’t match the use case

  • Use the Default reply and escalation flow to hand off cases that AI shouldn’t handle

  • Test both in-scope and out-of-scope emails before going fully live

Hi Ifra

Thanks for sharing this.

It would be useful to know HOW to do things specifically. I find the documentation is quite vague for Advanced AI in general for Zendesk. And it’s a very technical feature so it would be nice to get some specific step-by-step instructions on how to build the basics and what settings impact what aspects. Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the feedback! I agree that the step-by-step configuration is especially important with Advanced AI because different settings can affect how the AI Agent behaves.

For an email rollout, I’d start by reviewing the email automation trigger and its conditions, as this determines which incoming emails are routed to the AI Agent. Then I’d configure the use cases, define the Default reply for unmatched requests, and set up the appropriate escalation flow for cases that should go to a human.

I’d also recommend testing each path separately - an in-scope request, an out of scope request, and an escalation scenario - before expanding the rollout.

I agree that having a clear step-by-step configuration guide showing which setting controls which behavior would make Advanced AI much easier to implement.

Thank You
