Post Title: 

Lack of functionalities in Beta Panel Generator vs Classic Panel Generator

Feature Request Summary: 

We have seen that there is a new Panel Generator in Zendesk Explore. We would like to get ahead to this new Beta Panel Generator as soon as possible in order to avoid future complications with Classic Panel Generation deprecation.

Description/Use Cases: 

Here is a list of the things that we found that will not be available in Beta Panel Generator.

- Hiding filters will not be available anymore. Is it planned to enable this in the future? Otherwise, there will be more visual noise in the dashboards and they will be less intuitive, offering worse user experience.

- Filtering by calculated metrics will not be available anymore. For example, how will merged tickets be filtered? From product support is recommended to use a metrics filter because the tag filter is not working OK.

- Legend is not available anymore.

- Export options.

- Renaming panels.

- Font and color customization, losing the customization of the reports.

Business impact of limitation or missing feature:

We consider that this list of lack of features has high impact, so it will be important to have a clear image of next steps and roadmap regarding each item in the list.

    Hi Omar,
    thanks for your thorough feedback and for listing the features you would be interested to see in the new experience.
    Let me share with you where we stand with some of them:

    - Hiding filters: if I understand it correctly, you use them to set default filtering options for your viewer. We've recently launched dashboard restrictions to let you set default filtering criteria that won't be accessible to the viewer. Additionally, you can set filtering criteria that dynamically adapt to the viewer. You can learn more here

    - Legend, font, and color customization: you can tweak these options by accessing the individual report and configuring it from there. You will see then those tweaks reflected in the dashboard once you save the report. You can access the individual report from the dashboard builder by selecting the report and then clicking "More options"

    - Renaming panels: I assume you are either referring to the dashboard or tabs here. It is currently possible to rename the dashboard and renaming tabs will be supported in the future.

    - Filtering by calculated metrics: I am not aware of any limitations. Can you please open a ticket mentioning the dashboard you are using so we can look closer into it?

    - Export options: can you share a bit more about what use cases it's currently serving for you?

      - Hiding filters:

      --> We use hidden filters to configure Bookmarks. This doesn't depend on the viewer. When the documentation says "it will not exist anymore", do we need to configure each panel so it shows specific filter condicions as we do right now with bookmarks and hidden filters?

      --> We also have metrics filters. How will we be able to continue using those? Since what date will they stop working? This is critical for us, so we can start making the needed adjustments as soon as possible


      - Legend, font, and color customization:

      --> This question was related with the new beta version, but it is not critical so it's OK.

       

      - Renaming panels: I assume you are either referring to the dashboard or tabs here. It is currently possible to rename the dashboard and renaming tabs will be supported in the future.
      --> When will it be supported? What will happen to the ones that are renamed right now? This is a deprecation and has much impact, as we have many reports that are sent in image format to senior managers and direction.


      - Filtering by calculated metrics: 
      --> After double-checking the documentation, after the last modification of the article this is OK.

      - Export options:

      --> We are sending automatic Excel files and images. In Beta version docs it is detailed that this will not work anymore.

      Hi Omar,
      please find my answer below.

      - Bookmarks are currently listed as "Gathering interest". It means we haven't yet taken a decision on whether to implement them. I would invite you to upvote the post and mention how you currently use them to help us prioritize this item.

      - Metric filters: you can set the metric filters on the individual report. You can learn more here. Metric filters won't be available in the dashboard in the new experience.

      - Export options: from my understanding you are referring to "Export". This feature will be available before the GA and it's listed in the article.

      - Renaming panels: I am not sure what you mean by "panels". Can you please specify if you refer to the dashboard, reports, or tabs? You can both rename the dashboard and reports in the dashboard right now. We will support the ability to rename tabs once they are released.
