It used to be possible to re-size images on Community posts, but this has since been removed and I'm unsure as to why. Our screenshots now look huge which isn't ideal for formatting of posts.
If possible, can you look into re-instating this feature?

I checked in with the product team, and they said that no changes have been made to the community post editor in about 8 years, and they don't believe that re-sizing images was ever available. You CAN however do this in articles, so it's possible that's what you're thinking of.
There are not currently any plans to further update the community post editor, but the team is now aware of the desire for this functionality. I know I would certainly like to see it from the perspective of things we share here!
In the meantime, the best bet is to optimize the size of the image you plan to upload using Preview, Photoshop, or another image editor prior to adding it.
