Hi Zendesk Team,

I’d like to suggest an enhancement to the Automations feature in Zendesk. Currently, while Triggers have a very helpful revision history that allows us to track changes over time, Automations lack a similar audit log or versioning capability.

Having an audit log for Automations would be incredibly valuable for the following reasons:

  • Change Tracking: It would allow us to see what changes were made, when, and by whom—critical for accountability and troubleshooting.
  • Improvement & Optimization: Reviewing historical changes helps us understand the impact of past adjustments and refine our automation logic more effectively.
  • Consistency with Triggers: Aligning Automations with the existing revision history functionality in Triggers would create a more consistent and intuitive admin experience.

This feature would significantly improve transparency and control for teams managing complex workflows.

Thank you so much for sharing this thoughtful request. I completely agree that having revision history and an audit trail for Automations would be valuable. Change tracking is essential for accountability, governance, and workflow optimization, especially for teams managing complex support operations.
 
While we’re unable to prioritize this work in the near term due to other roadmap commitments, I’ve documented this request for consideration in our mid-to-late 2026 planning cycle. It aligns well with our longer-term goals to improve consistency and transparency across our admin tools, and we’ll be sure to revisit it as we evaluate future enhancements to automation and workflow management.
We really appreciate your engagement and the context you provided as it helps us shape the right solutions at the right time.
