General program questions

What is Zendesk Spark?

Zendesk Spark is our unified recognition program. It celebrates the ways you contribute across the Zendesk ecosystem. Whether you answer community questions, build your skills in Zendesk Academy, or share your story through advocacy, we recognize your impact in one place.

How do I join the program?

The Reward Hub is now live. Visit the Hub and select Request to join. Please use the same email address you use for the Zendesk Community so we can track your activity correctly. Once you are registered, you can start taking on challenges and earning points.

Program roadmap: now and coming soon

What is available in the Reward Hub right now?

You can use the Reward Hub today to:

  • Explore the new rewards store
  • Take on active challenges and grow your point balance

What is live now?

Community activity tracking is now live in Spark. Posts, replies, likes, and other community actions are tracked automatically.

What is coming soon?

In June, Spark will add:

  • Academy tracking, so activity in Zendesk Academy is tracked automatically
  • Tiered rewards for Ember, Flare, Blaze, and Supernova members

Points, levels, and rewards

How do I track my points and redeem rewards?

Log in to the Reward Hub to view your point balance, track your progress toward the next level, and browse the rewards store.

Does spending points affect my progress toward a level?

No. Your level is based on the total points you earn each year. You can redeem spendable points for gift cards or swag at any time without affecting your progress toward the next level.

What are the level thresholds?

Levels are based on points earned during the calendar year:

  • Ember: 1,000 points
  • Flare: 5,000 points
  • Blaze: 12,500 points
  • Supernova: 25,000 points

Do points and status expire?

Yes. To keep the community active and reflect current impact, your point balance and level reset each year on January 1.

Points for community activity

Community actions earn points in Spark:

  • Post a question, discussion, or idea: 35 points
  • Reply to a post: 20 points
  • Provide a best answer: 50 points
  • Like a post: 5 points
  • Receive a like: 15 points
  • Vote on an idea: 5 points
  • Receive a vote: 15 points

Information for former Luminaries

I was a Luminary. What changes for me?

Zendesk Spark gives everyone a fresh start and a more unified way to recognize contributions. The Luminary program has transitioned into Spark, and your future status will be based on the activity and points you earn after the May 13 launch.

What happened to my existing points and status?

Legacy Luminary points and status did not transfer into Spark. Members had until May 12 to redeem any remaining legacy points. Everyone began Spark at the first tier so the program could start with a fair and equal baseline for all members.
