We have our chatbot created in (and default language) is English. We offer it to customers in a few different languages via the translate functionality.  Everytime a customer starts a chat with the bot in any language other than English they are provided with a notice that the conversation is translated:

“-- Messages are automatically translated from the original language --”

Whilst I understand why this message is helpful to some (i.e to explain the language might not be perfect), that should be up to me to decide if I want to say that to a customer or not. As I understand it right now I can't disable this message. It's pretty unprofessional.  My companies default language is German but it's setup in English, so my only option it seems is to recreate the bot setup in German first, and have English as a translation. But then I still have that message.

There must be a better way to handle this?

Best case =  Can I have multiple bots in different languages that we fully setup, rather than just relying on translations? We have bi-lingual staff that can set things up in our most used languages, then rely on the translation functionality for any others.

Regarding the notice, please can you allow us to just turn it on or off.

I'm also having issues with this - every message we send reads as ‘translated’ once sent, which is a confusing chat flow and appears as part of the conversation in each message sent on Whatsapp.

Is there true multiple-language support for Zendesk Bots/ AI Agents down the roadmap? at least dynamic content please?

Hi Neopro,

I understand your frustration with the automatic translation message appearing in your chatbot. While currently you can't directly disable it, there are a few options to consider:

Control the Message (if applicable): Some chatbot platforms allow customizing the translation message. You might be able to rephrase it to sound less intrusive or even remove some information (e.g., "Messages may be translated"). Same feature i have seen on premiere dental.

Multiple Chatbots (Ideal Solution): You're right, having separate chatbots for your main languages (German and potentially others) managed by your bilingual staff would be ideal. This eliminates the need for translation entirely and provides a more polished experience. Check with your chatbot provider if this functionality is available.

Request Feature Update: If multiple chatbots aren't an option, consider submitting a feature request to your chatbot provider. Express your desire for more control over the translation message, including the ability to disable it completely.

I understand your frustration with the automatic translation message in your multilingual chatbot. While it can be informative for some users, you'd like more control over how that information is presented. There are a few ways to address this: Check for Customization Options: Some chatbot platforms allow customizing the translation message. You might be able to rephrase it to sound less intrusive or even remove some information altogether. Consider Multiple Chatbots: If your resources allow, creating separate chatbots for your most used languages (German in this case) could be a good solution. This would eliminate the need for translation entirely for those languages and provide a more polished user experience. You can then rely on translation functionality for less frequent languages.
