Currently, AI agents can only be edited by an administrator.
We believe that it is a security issue that only administrators can operate an AI agent, which is a single function, so we would like to see the ability to assign privileges through custom roles, etc.

This feature is necessary for companies that operate a complex team structures.

Agreed on the inititative and the requirement. Some non-admins, but rather business users, should have the power to adjust their bots as needed, since Zendesk’s GTM lingo is that “the customer doesn’t need an army of AI experts to create or manage their AI agents”, thus, pointing to the idea that the owners of the operation can own their AI agents, without a power user.

Hi there, PM for granular permissions and I’m currently writing the requirements document for this very permission.

Would love to hear your more granular requirements about what an agent in a custom role should be able to do within AI agents? Currently, I have:

  1. Create-only: can create AI agents but not edit existing ones.

  2. Edit-only: can edit existing AI agents but not create new ones.

  3. Full manage: can create, edit, and delete AI agents.

Please provide your feedback!

Thank you Alina!

Those three scenarios are perfect. I would add Edit-only OWN bots, not others’. I also believe this would be great for ALL AI Agents, even Essential, not only Advanced agents, as this is a major request from partners and customers. Basically the screen in the attached image.

Thank you so very much!

Ah, that’s a great distinction around your own agents vs others. Thank you! This is for essential (and Advanced) so on the same page as you!

It would be great to have a read only permission as well, so that we can have business leads review workflows, procedures, etc. to ensure the content and build is correct, but would prevent them from making changes to the build.
