We have observed that Live Data dashboards in Zendesk Explore do not display data for users whose roles do not have the “All data” permission enabled. This occurs even when users have valid access to Explore, the dashboards are shared with them, and their roles are correctly scoped to specific brands. While the dashboards are accessible, no data is displayed unless “All data” permission is granted.
The preferred behavior would be for Live Data dashboards to display real‑time data based on the user’s assigned role and brand membership, without requiring unrestricted data access. This limitation currently restricts real‑time operational visibility for brand‑scoped teams and supervisors, either necessitating broader permissions than required or excluding key users from live reporting.
Allowing Live Data dashboards to respect existing brand‑based data‑scoping rules would remove this dependency on “All data” permission and improve governance and usability.
