Hello, I am wondering if there has been any recent development on this issue. Is a native spellcheck for Zendesk available yet? Thank you!

Hello all,

We currently do not have a native spellcheck but are actively working on prioritizing it on our roadmap. We will be sure to get back once we have a timeline for delivery. Thanks for your patience and engagement on this thread.

+1 to this.

It is getting harder to approve third party add on's for Zendesk for security reasons. So it would be wonderful if basic spelling & grammar could be native.

Hello all! Thanks for engaging on this thread so far. At Zendesk, we are continuously striving to enhance our platform and provide you with the tools you need to succeed. We have received requests for a native spell checker and grammar checker, and we would love to gather your feedback to better understand your needs.

To help us prioritize & build this feature, we would appreciate it if you could take a moment to answer a few quick questions:

  1. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being a blocker to your workflows, how would you rate the priority of having a native spell checker and grammar checker?
  2. How often do you think you would use this feature in your daily tasks? (e.g., daily, weekly, occasionally)
  3. Would you prefer real-time detection of errors with suggestions for corrections, or would you rather have a button that allows you to batch correct your spelling and grammar at once?

Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us and will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our platform. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Hi @amisha11 ,

Good Zendesk is following up on this.

To answer your questions:

  1. It will be a 4. It's not a workflow blocker, as it's possible to send messages with bad grammar. But, we have agents that write in several non-native languages, which they write 80% fluent. We need the spell checker for the additional 20%.
  2. Daily, even every second, as every second messages are sent out.
  3. Real-time detection, so agents immediately see the errors and even learn from it.

This is a feature that we would like integrated in Zendesk, as it will improve the experience for both customers and end-users.  Below is additional feedback

  1. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being a blocker to your workflows, how would you rate the priority of having a native spell checker and grammar checker? > 2
  2. How often do you think you would use this feature in your daily tasks? > Daily
  3. Would you prefer real-time detection of errors with suggestions for corrections, or would you rather have a button that allows you to batch correct your spelling and grammar at once? > Real-time detection of errors with suggestions for corrections

  1. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being a blocker to your workflows, how would you rate the priority of having a native spell checker and grammar checker? Spell checker, 1 (most of our org uses Chrome, which has one built in), Grammar checker, 2.5, as it's not really a blocker but can slow us down.
  2. How often do you think you would use this feature in your daily tasks? (e.g., daily, weekly, occasionally) across our team? multiple times daily
  3. Would you prefer real-time detection of errors with suggestions for corrections, or would you rather have a button that allows you to batch correct your spelling and grammar at once? real-time detection of errors.

To answer your questions Amisha:

  1. 3
  2. Daily, down to the minute as our reps send out email replies 24/7.
  3. We would prefer real-time detection to immediately see errors.

It's crazy that there's no native spelling/grammar feature in zendesk and no viable free apps to fill that void.

  1. 4
  2. 5
  3. Real-time detection of errors with suggestions for corrections. My staff use a lot of short-form and abbreviations applicable to our service so I would be concerned with how that would affect batch-correcting.

This really should be a standard feature already, I'm surprised it's not.  It would be extremely helpful.
