Hi Community. We are having several issues regarding SEO with the Help center, and I hope to find some answers here. I am not myself skilled with Javascript or such coding, but can get help from IT team if needed. This concerns our Help center for our shopping platform, where any online customer can access without log in, and doesn't require a log in for anyone. Crawled pages: We have an outstanding number of pages that can't be crawled because they are “broken links”. This appeared within the last 2 weeks. The pages concerned are actually the main page showing all our categories, as well as with each category page, and section page, for all the languages with have. The error code on Semrush is 403 Forbidden “Client does not have access rights to the content so server is rejecting to give proper response”.Is it something new in Semrush or Zendesk that doesn't allow to crawl correctly? How can this be fixed? Any help is appreciated!Best,Andrea
In Zendesk emails, I want to type the first letter of the sentence in Capital. I tried many options, but it didn't work. Can someone help me to set this up in Zendesk? Thank you in advance.
Hello Team, I want to access variables like sections, categories etc in script.js file. How can we achieve this?
Zendesk level: BeginnerKnowledge: Copy and Paste :-)Time Required: 5 minutes There are two options you can use to change the placeholder text associated with the Search Bar. OPTION 1 - Use the curlybar framework (preferred option) Default from Home Page tab {{search submit=false instant=true class='search search-full'}} We are going to add placeholder='Search our Forums' like below {{search submit=false instant=true class='search search-full' placeholder='Search our Forums'}} Option 2 - Use JQuery This option works fine but there could be a small delay while the DOM loads. Select the “JS” tab Find the following line: $(document).ready(function() { Add the following code right below the line above $('#query').attr('placeholder','Search our Forums'); Save and Publish your site and you should notice the text change in your Search box. Before After
Hi everyone, I've had a look through the forums and posts but can't find an answer to my scenario, so thought I'd ask it. In our help center, we have the "Submit a Request" option as a button, rather than plain text in the header. Before changing themes, the previous setup had the "Submit a request" link hidden until the user signed in. However, our previous HC did not have the "submit" set as a button. I've tried wrapping the button with the {{#if signed_in}} code, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. My current code looks like this: {{! Submit a request }}<a href="/hc/requests/new" class="btn btn--md btn--primary is-hidden--md-down header__request-right">{{t 'submit_a_request'}}</a> What would I need to do to either:1. Hide this button until you were signed in, or2. Make the user have to sign in when clicking this button Many thanks for any help or advice you can offer here.
Zendesk note: This tip is addresses the use case where you want to hide the submit a request link until the user signs in, and not restrict tickets in all channels to sign-in users. Alternatively, you can restrict all ticket submission to signed-in users, and prompt users in the Help Center to sign in when they click submit a request (see this article). Problem: Many organization having their HC on public URL want's the ability to have only signed-in users (end users) to have access to submit a ticket page (new request page). Solution: Using the below code you can prompt the user to sign-in/signup in order to send a ticket. Zendesk note: Instead of using the JSS in this tip, you might consider using the signed-in helper as described in this comment and the subsequent comment. Login into your Help center as admin/agent Click customize design Click Edit theme On HTML replace the submit a request component by adding class=“request” to the element you want to wrap submit-a-
Hi I ma using in iOS let requestList = RequestUi.buildRequestList(with: [requestConfig]) to open page. This is showing a button Start A Conversation I want to change background of button. But I am not able to do it. Please suggest.
Hello! I'd like to implement something similar to what Zendesk has in their own help center, where each article shows which plans the article applies to (the images under the “What's my plan?” link, here for example). I imagine this can be accomplished with article labels (Product1, Product2) and then a bunch of ‘if’ statements (If product1, show image1; if product2 show image2). Would love to know if anyone has implemented something like this – any sample code you can share, or any pitfalls you've encountered.
Hi,We are currently setting up a second brand, with a specific ticket form, dedicated for a group of already existing customers/endusers in our Zendesk. Is there a way to route these endusers to this new brand/url, when logging in to our Zendesk, if they should use the wrong url/already existing url they are already used to navigate to?
Is it possible to change the order in which End-users see comments for their tickets in "My activities" page. I want to change it, so the most recent comment is on the top. Is it also possible to change where the exact date and time is displayed on the comments rather than "2 months ago"
I have the code below and was wondering if someone in the community can help. :) This code is supposed to require an attachment if a specific dropdown option is selected. This was taken from a post someone had back done a few years ago, linked here. My issue is that I have this code for one form (Form A) and then I copied and pasted it right underneath each other to help require the attachment for my other form (Form B). I changed the custom field value to align with Form B. The issue is that when the code is repeated, it only ends up keeping the requirement for the “most recent” one, in this case, Form B. Then I end up losing the requirement for Form A. Any help would be amazing! // REQUIRE ATTACHMENTS FOR FORM A // Function to start observing node for mutations var startObserveMutations = function (nodeSelector, options, callbackFunction) { var node = document.querySelector(nodeSelector); if (node) { var observer = new
I understand that the team support plan does not include community. Currently, I am only using community in my professional plan to provide comments on articles in my knowledge base. If I downgrade from the professional plan to the team support plan, I would expect the community entries to disappear, and for the links from the articles to the community entries to be broken. I can repair those links manually if I need to. Would there be any other consequence to the help articles from the downgrade?
You don't need to program; you just need to add a special stylesheet link to your HTML document and make reference to a font in a CSS style. Copies and pastes the following HTML content into a document: <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Tangerine"> <style> body { font-family: 'Tangerine', serif; font-size: 48px; } </style> </head> <body> <div>Making the Web Beautiful!</div> </body></html>
I activate the web widget (embed) in Help Center. When my user use the web widget in Help Center (and after login in the Help Center), the conversation converted to Zendesk ticket but recorded the requester as ‘Web User’.I expect the ticket should be recorded as login user automatically, how to set this?I understand that I can manually change the requester in agent workspace, but the problem is this will add unnecessary step for the agent and will created a bunch of garbage (Web User) in Customer list which is another unecessary step for the agent or admin to clean up the garbage user.
Does the team support plan Include help files/knowledge base? If I downgrade from professional to Team Support, will it retain my help / knowledge base articles?
Is there a way to delete posts? If so, who has the right to do it?
I'm trying to capture data when a signed-in Zendesk (ZD) user views a specific help center article within ZD Guide. Here's an example:So, a few hundred employees are onboarded to start working a cruise on “Boat A”. Everyone who is going to work on Boat A is required to read the Boat A Employee Handbook that covers important safety policies. This Boat A Employee Handbook is an article in Zendesk Guide. All employees that are onboarded will be signed into ZD when viewing this employee handbook. There will also be many other helpful employee articles in the Help Center too. Currently I have configured Google Analytics 4 (GA4) & Google Tag Manager (GTM) to capture events when anyone views “Boat A Employee Handbook”. I haven't yet been able to narrow down this value from anyone to specific ZD user ID. Basically it's for compliance; if a Boat A employee didn't read the Boat A Employee Handbook regarding safety and did something dangerous, the company would want to know if this specif
My coworker uses Zendesk extensions in her browser, which is Chrome (but we've also tried Edge), but if she is in a zoom meeting, or a Slack Huddle, the quality drops to an unusable state if she also uses any of her Zendesk extensions. Either of them works fine alone, but in combination they cause the call quality to drop drastically. She uses Zendesk Utils, and Zest for example. We have other associates who also use these tools in combination that do not have any problems. I was hoping to find out if anyone has any solutions, or things we could try. This person needs to use all of the Zendesk extensions, and also requires the use of Slack huddles and Zoom meetings, and cannot live without either of them, and cannot use Zoom/Slack primarily on her phone, unfortunately. I have verifed that system resources are available and with 16 gigs of Ram she has 20% available, and her CPU is not spiked. Her computer uses an SSD, so defrag is not needed. Ho
Does anyone have some custom javascript that would allow me to disable the dropdown for form submission when someone lands on a specific form? I've tried everything but it seems like the from request drop down doesn't behave like a normal drop down.I want this to be un-selectable when a user lands on a certain form. There a few hidden forms we send users to from time to time but if they click on the drop down, they can navigate out of that form and not be able to get back. Any help would be extremely appreciated!
Hello, I'm trying to add 2 more columns on My Requests page - Partner ID and Due Date. I was able to put the header using <th> but I don't know how to display the data below it. I don't know much about coding, hoping to get some help on this.
Hi, I have looked everywhere for the ability to enable users to be able to flag a post or a comment as something that needs attention from an admin. I believe it would be a good place to put it inside the actions group that already exists. I have tried making modifications myself, but I haven't been able to do so. We are currently using the default Copenhagen theme. I know there is a feature to make posts require approval from admin before they post, however we do not want this functionality. We just want users to be able to alert the admin if something is not going as it should be. Any advice, hints, tricks would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!
How to call "request_page.hbs" to homepage
Hi Community,I'm researching to understand the precise steps required to update the "Host Mapping" from, for instance, "support.diegobechi.com" to "support.newdomain.com". After scouring numerous articles and forums, I've found the most relevant resource to be this one: https://support.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408838571930-Host-mapping-Changing-the-URL-of-your-help-centerThis article provides clear instructions on how to set up the new alias, including: Properly configuring DNS settings on my end Updating the host mapping URL within the branding settings Verifying that Zendesk generates a new certificate for the new URL. Following these steps should ensure a smooth transition to the new domain. However, my primary concern revolves around handling traffic from old links, as many customers and sites may still be linked to articles with the old "support.diegobechi.com" URL. I'm eager to learn if there's a way to set up redirects so that users clicking on old links are seamlessly
Hi, I am looking for a way to introduce polls into our Gather Community. I thought embedding Google Forms could be a simple way to do this. However, I cannot get it to work. Is there a way to achieve this?
I've read, I believe, that labels used on an article template will not carry over to the new article when the template is created. One, is that still correct? Two, is there a workaround to have select labels applied, i.e. such as the template name, to the new article? I'm trying to reduce the need for our team to remember what labels to apply and create less administrative work to maintain them on all articles.
