We’re excited to introduce the Advanced Approvals Early Access Program (EAP) — a new way for admins to build automated approval workflows directly in Zendesk.

With advanced approval actions, you can automate submitting approval requests and take follow-up actions based on the decision. That means teams can now create human-in-the-loop and multi step sequential approval workflows that mirror how real business processes actually work.

 

What’s new

With the Send approval request and wait for outcome action, workflows no longer need to send an approval request and immediately continue. Instead, they can Pause the workflow and wait for an approver to make a decision In short: the workflow can wait for the right person to make the right decision at the right time.

 

Why this matters

For teams managing case and service workflows, approvals often are a part of the larger business process. For example:

  • Get Legal approval for launching new policy and then publishing it
  • Send a refund approval request to a Team Lead before processing the payment
  • HR approvals during Employee Onboarding before sending out equipment

Advanced approvals help you move beyond basic notification-based approvals and toward workflow-driven approval orchestration.
